Taking Preventive Healthcare to the Community

The screening camp was organised to increase awareness of preventive healthcare and encourage early identification of health abnormalities. A total of 52 participants attended the camp and underwent health assessments.

Each participant received a general NCD screening, helping provide a basic understanding of their health status. The screening process was designed to make preventive healthcare more accessible to people within their local community.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral health screening formed an important part of the camp. All 52 participants underwent an oral examination through visual observation, allowing the screening team to assess the mouth and oral cavity for visible abnormalities.

In addition, 12 participants underwent screening using the Oral Scan device, supporting a more technology-enabled approach to oral health assessment.

Among the screened participants, one suspected oral abnormality was identified. The participant was advised to undergo appropriate follow-up and confirmatory evaluation to determine the nature of the finding.

Awareness and Early Detection

The camp also highlighted the importance of identifying health problems at an early stage. Participants were encouraged to stay aware of changes in their oral health and seek medical attention if they notice any unusual symptoms or abnormalities.

Through community-based screening initiatives such as this, Swasthyarekha aims to promote a culture of prevention, awareness, and timely medical consultation.

Community Partnership in Action

The Yuva Vikash Foundation, Balasore, supported the camp's successful organisation, helping bring health screening services closer to the community.

Conducting screening programmes at accessible community locations can help reduce barriers to preventive healthcare and encourage more people to participate in regular health check-ups.

The Path Forward

Identifying a suspected oral abnormality reinforces the importance of accessible screening and timely follow-up. Early identification provides an opportunity for further clinical evaluation and appropriate care when required.

Swasthyarekha continues to work to expand community-based screening services and raise awareness about cancer prevention, NCDs, and the importance of early detection.

Be Part of the Next Camp

We extend our sincere thanks to the Yuva Vikash Foundation, Balasore, the New Life Drug De-addiction and Research Centre, Haldidiha, and all the participants who took part in the screening camp.

Through continued collaboration with healthcare organisations, NGOs, community groups, CSR partners, and local institutions, Swasthyarekha aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible to communities across Odisha.

Early Detection. Better Care. Healthier Communities.
